Upload Stripe billing contacts to Chaser

Upload your billing contacts from Stripe into Chaser via the Chaser API.

Stripe's API doesn't support the transfer of billing contacts, which means your Customers in Chaser will show only the Company Contacts. You can upload the billing contacts into Chaser via the Chaser API using a simple online sheet. This is only relevant if you need to specifically chase the billing contact rather than the account/company contact.

Activate this service

Reach out to support@chaserhq.com to get your unique, secure Google Sheet and activate this tool in your account. Once received, follow the steps below.

Activate the Chaser Contact Importer

  • Click Chaser on the top left-hand menu in the shared Google Sheet, then click Show Contact Importer.

  • An alert will appear on screen. Give authority to run the script by clicking Authorize and following the steps on screen, then select all the tick boxes and confirm. 
  • An orange menu will show on the right-hand side. This is your uploader tool:

Pull new contacts into your contact uploader sheet

  • Add new customers to Stripe via your usual method.
  • Click the blue Pull contacts button on the Chaser Contact Importer.
  • Your new customers will show in columns A and B.

Add billing contact information to Chaser

  • Add the main billing contact for each company by adding their first name to column C, last name to column D, and email to column E.
  • You can add a second contact in columns F, G and H if needed.
  • A date and time stamp will appear in column I to show you have updated the sheet.
  • Click Upload contact persons in the Chaser Contact Importer.
  • Refresh your Chaser app browser window. 
  • View a specific customer page and you will see the billing contacts have been added under the Recipients tab.
  • Click Sync and the first contact will be updated to the default contact.
  • Column J in your Google sheet will now show the contact has been updated in Chaser with a time and date stamp.
  • You can change the billing contacts if details change in future, by following the same process in the Google sheet.

Edit existing billing contact information

  • Update the first name, last name, or email address in columns C to H.
  • Click Pull contacts
  • The contact information will update in Chaser. Click refresh in your browser to see these updates.
  • Please note that this will not change the selected recipient to the default settings. The selected recipient will remain the first billing contact - only the details i.e. name or email, will change.
